Private fleets

Private units will be entitled to a FREE FREIGHT CHARGE trip* based on the mileage travelled on Ferromex and/or Ferrosur lines during their last loaded movement, valid for one year for the return of the units.
Any private unit that changes assignments must be documented according to the current equipment documentation processes.
Pool updates must be requested in writing to the Private Fleets department using the established format.
If the distance travelled by the empty equipment to the new loading centre is greater than the distance travelled on the last loaded trip, the difference in the empty travel distance will be subject to EMPTY FREIGHT CHARGES (9th Class).

When private equipment cars are sent at the owner's request for repair, maintenance, or storage and are not assigned to any user, their movement will be subject to EMPTY FREIGHT CHARGES in both directions (9th Class).
When empty private units are sent for loading on Ferromex and/or Ferrosur lines and are not used, the sender or the responsible Railway will be charged the freight charges.
When units are off-route, the sender or the responsible Railway will be charged EMPTY FREIGHT CHARGES (9th Class), and the return will be free of freight charges to the exchange point where it was received.

For private units entering Ferromex and/or Ferrosur lines for the first time, the corresponding freight charges must be paid from the exchange point received on Ferromex and/or Ferrosur lines until the unit or units are delivered.

When empty private units consigned to different Railways in Mexico (KCSM, FSRR, or TFVM) enter, EMPTY FREIGHT CHARGES (14th Class) will apply from the exchange point received until the exchange point where Ferromex delivers said units, or vice versa.
When an empty unit has moved WITHOUT FREIGHT CHARGES from the exchange point to the loading centre and another empty movement is required due to the needs of the owner and/or user, EMPTY FREIGHT CHARGES (9th Class) will apply to the second movement.

When the equipment repair is the responsibility of the owner or lessor, EMPTY FREIGHT CHARGES (9th Class) will apply.
If the owner or lessor requests the movement of their equipment to a specific workshop to keep it in optimal condition, EMPTY FREIGHT CHARGES (9th Class) will apply from the origin to the destination workshop, and the return to its assignment will be under the same conditions.
For units in transit with an empty waybill, if the owner or lessor requires the equipment to be sent to a workshop located along the return route, they will request a DESTINATION CHANGE from Industrial Services, with the corresponding charge, and once the equipment is repaired, it will be documented as FREE OF FREIGHT CHARGES to its original assignment circuit.

Units documented to be scrapped or to make their final trip due to the end of their useful life (rule 90 of the AAR Interchange Rules Manual) will apply EMPTY FREIGHT CHARGES (9th Class).
