Cleaning, closing, and clean car seals
At Ferromex, safety is a high priority, therefore we ask that all railcars you use or that are adapted with compartments (side doors, end doors, top covers, discharge valves, or hatches) be closed before being delivered for movement. This will help us to reduce personal and operational accidents and damages to the units that transport your goods.
If our Transportation personnel arrive to remove units from your Industry and the compartments on these units are found open, the units will not be removed, therefore it is very important to ensure that all units are left properly closed.
We also remind you that loaded units received must be left clean and closed after unloading, for which we offer Clean Car Seals which you are invited to request from Customer Services using the corresponding form.
For more information, see the Rules for the Application of the Other Services Tariff attached, and registered with the S.C.T. Department of Railroad and Multimodal Transportation on April 24, 2013.
Cleaning of cars
Rule I Cleaning of Cars
a).- The Customer/User that receives a railcar at destination for unloading is obliged to deliver the car completely empty, free of any residue from their merchandise and any packing material and protection used. When a Customer/User releases a car in a state other than that established, the release will imply a request made by the Customer/User to Ferromex to provide a cleaning service.
b).- When the Customer/User releases the car and Ferromex finds the Customer/User has not unloaded the car completely, Ferromex will clean the car and apply to the Customer/User the charge for the cleaning service, plus a charge for intra-terminal switching, for moving the car to the cleaning tracks, as established in the charges and fees outlined in this tariff.
c).- Ferromex may waive the cleaning charges for those Customers/Users that close doors and valves and place the corresponding seals.
Closing of doors, discharge valve mechanisms and hatches

a).- The Customer/User that receives a railcar for unloading at their facilities or on public tracks is obliged to deliver the railcar to Ferromex with the doors, discharge valve mechanisms, and hatches closed and secured using the devices on each unit for this purpose. The charges for this service will be applied to the Customer/User according to that established in this tariff.
